A Simple Witness of Love
Founded in 1960 on the hills of Bali, Sacred Heart Girls’ High School (SHGHS) serves as a quiet presence of the Society’s mission in Taiwan. Today, the school’s spirit and administration are managed through a seamless collaboration with lay mission partners, who work hand-in-hand with the Society to ensure the charism remains the heartbeat of our institutional development.
Education and Formation
At SHGHS, Education and Formation are deeply intertwined. We prioritize "character over competition," walking alongside our students as they grow into women of integrity. By nurturing the whole person, our lay partners and Sisters ensure that academic growth is rooted in a sense of community. We seek to form hearts that are not only capable but also compassionate and grounded.
Spirituality
The Spirituality of the Sacred Heart is lived out through interiority. In the busyness of modern Taiwan, we offer the gift of "Silence"—moments for students and staff to look inward. This spiritual grounding helps our community find strength in God’s love, fostering a contemplative outlook that transforms daily tasks into acts of service.
JPIC (Justice, Peace, and the Integrity of Creation)
Our commitment to JPIC is rooted in our local environment. Being situated on a hillside, we teach our students to be stewards of the land they walk upon every day.
•Ecological Care: Simple habits of waste reduction and respect for the local flora and fauna are part of campus life.
•Social Awareness: We encourage students to look beyond the "bubble" of school life, fostering an awareness of social inequalities and a desire to serve the marginalized with humility rather than pity.

By living these priorities simply, SHGHS contributes its small part to the wider NEANZ Province, keeping the flame of St. Madeleine Sophie Barat alive through the shared dedication of RSCJs. and mission partners alike.
